Counseling and Support Services

Military & Family Life Counseling ServicesBishop Elementary is fortunate to have access to a Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) who provides support to military-connected students and families. Once a student is enrolled, the counselor will be notified and will contact the family directly to complete the necessary paperwork and obtain consent for services. The MFLC helps students navigate the unique challenges of military life, including school transitions, deployments, and family changes. Students participating in the program typically meet with the counselor once a week throughout the school year.

Campus & District Counseling Services

At Bishop Elementary, we recognize the unique experiences and challenges that military-connected students and families may face, including frequent moves, deployments, reunifications, and transitions to new schools and communities. Our counseling program is committed to providing a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

School counselors work closely with students, families, teachers, and campus staff to support successful transitions, promote resilience, and connect families with available resources. Whether a student is new to our campus, experiencing a parent’s deployment, or adjusting to changes at home, our counseling team is available to provide guidance, encouragement, and support throughout the school year.

Military families are encouraged to contact the school counselor or campus military liaison for assistance and information about available services and resources.
